Installation Steps for XXE X310 Carbon Crank

Photo Description

- First of all, please check whether all crankset components are complete according to the parts list.

- Use vernier caliper to measure the bottom bracket width (overall width including BB and washers on the frame)

- a) X310-DUB (28.99mm axle) version, requires frame width ≤91.5mm.

- b) X310-24 (24mm axle) version, requires frame width ≤93.5mm.

- Calculate the required washer thickness:

- a) X310-DUB (28.99mm axle) version, washer thickness =91.5 - bottom bracket width.

- b) X310-24 (24mm axle) version, washer thickness =93.5 - bottom bracket width.

- Apply anti-seize compound to the green bottom bracket part of the non-drive side crank (with axle).

- Apply anti-seize grease to the internal threads and outer side.


- Install chainring to the spiders (or power meter).

Remarks: When installing the chainring spider/power meter, please follow the installation instructions provided by specific brand.

- Use BBT-22 tool to loosen chainring lock ring

- Install the spider or power meter on Drive side crank (without axle)

- Tighten chainring lock ring

Tool: Torque wrench and BBT-22 tool

Remarks: Torque range: 37~40Nm


- Apply grease to the inside of the drive side and the screw threads.

- Attach thedrive side of crank (with spider or power meter already installed) to the non-drive side crank axle


- Use a torque wrench to tighten the locking boltto secure both crank arms.

- Use a rubber mallet to gently tap the drive-side crank so it moves toward the non-drive side.

Tool: torque wrench, soft face mallet

Torque range: 40-45Nm

(In high-performance or competitive environments, replacement is required after three installations/removals.)




- Adjust the screw on thepreload ring of thenon-drive-side (with spindle) crank arm until there is no gap between the crank and the bottom bracket.

- Use a T8 Torx wrench to tighten the preload ring screw.


ELILEE X310 (DUB-24mm) Titanium axle crank installation are same as (DUB-28.99mm) version, just one additional step to keep in mind.

Prior to installing the crank on the drive side (without the axle), please fit the special nylon washer designed for the titanium axle.

Additionally, the ELILEE X310 (DUB-24mm)  Titanium alloy Axle Crank is suitable for frames with a bottom bracket width 93.5mm.




Frequently Asked Questions (Q&A)
Q: Why can't the crank be removed?

A: Failure to properly apply anti-seize compound causes it to be unremovable.


Q: Why is there play after crank installation?

A: Please follow the correct measurement method in the manual and use the preload ring properly.


Q: Why can't the crank rotate smoothly after installation?

A: The front derailleur needs to be re-adjusted.


Q: Why is the front derailleur inaccurate after crank installation?
