Ratchet 36T Freehub System
The G71DB hub is produced by a reputable hub manufacturer in Taiwan, known for consistent quality and reliable performance. With a total weight of just 320/g per pair, the hubs remain lightweight while maintaining durability. They utilize a DT Swiss–style 36T ratchet mechanism, delivering quick engagement and efficient power transfer from rider to drivetrain.

24-Hole Straight-Pull Spoke Layout
Both front and rear hubs feature a straight-pull spoke design with 24 spoke holes, using a balanced 1:1 lacing ratio. This 24-spoke configuration provides a strong and durable wheel structure while keeping the overall weight low—well suited for the varied demands of gravel riding.

Traditional Drilled-Flange Spoke Interface
The hub flanges are designed with conventional drilled spoke holes, allowing spokes to pass directly through the round holes during wheel assembly. Compared with slot-in or captive spoke systems, this traditional approach simplifies wheel building, maintenance, and spoke replacement, while ensuring wide compatibility with standard components. This makes the hub a practical choice for gravel adventures, long-distance exploration, and remote riding routes.

Drilled-Flange Spoke Interface

Hub design:

The hubs use a thread-on end cap construction, creating a more secure and stable interface between the hub body and the end caps. This threaded connection improves overall structural integrity during riding. For proper installation, the recommended tightening torque for the end caps is 8 Nm. The hub caps feature a thread-in design with internal hex sockets. When installing or removing the caps, two M12 hex wrenches should be used simultaneously to ensure correct tightening and safe disassembly.

This wheelset features full-carbon spokes (model CS1) developed specifically for high-performance applications. Each spoke weighs only 2.9g, with a 3.1 mm wide aero-bladed profile designed to reduce drag while maintaining excellent stiffness. Constructed from T800 carbon fiber, these spokes deliver a strength-to-weight ratio superior to conventional steel spokes while maintaining a familiar spoke-like appearance. Including the dedicated aluminum nipple, the combined weight is only 3.2g per spoke, which is approximately 1.8g lighter than a Sapim CX-Ray spoke with nipple. According to in-house laboratory testing, the maximum spoke tension reaches 360kgf, significantly exceeding the typical industry test standard of around 300kgf.

Important Note About Carbon Spoke Wheel Building: Carbon spoke wheels require specific wheel-building tools and dedicated components.

The spoke nipples used for these wheels have a larger head diameter (~7 mm), which is bigger than a standard Presta valve hole (6.5 mm). Because of this, nipples cannot be inserted into the rim through the valve hole. As a result: No-External-Hole rims are not compatible with carbon spoke builds. Tubeless rim tape is required if the wheels will be used with tubeless tires. If you prefer a No-External-Hole rim design, please consider our other carbon wheelsets that use traditional steel spokes.

50mm: Designed for riders seeking maximum aerodynamic advantage. This deeper rim performs well in fast gravel races or on smoother terrain where maintaining speed is important, though with a slight weight increase.
