LightCarbon 700C Mid-range C52DB Carbon Gravel Wheelset With Widened Carbon Rims

Considering the price of DT Swiss hubs increases quickly, and lead time is getting longer and longer, LightCarbon has developed our own mould disc brake hubs (called C52DB). Its shape looks similar as DT240 hubs, but the cost is much lower. High performance and high quality hubs made by well-known hub manufacturer in Taiwan.

LightCarbon C52DB Widened Carbon Gravel Wheel Features

C52DB disc brake hubs feature TPI brand ceramic bearings. The weight is around 344~355g/pair with different freehub bodies. Hubs are designed with Ratchet 36T freehub system which improves power transfer efficiency, combining with ceramic bearings, the rolling resistance is minimized. Such hubs help you to shorten acceleration time and save energy. Ceramic bearings are smoother, rounder and with more uniform size. In that case, the friction is reduced and that can contribute more energy to the wheels. Ceramic bearing is also harder than steel bearings (up to 30%), which improves durability, and they also don’t rust for less maintenance. Ratchet freehub system are usually used in high-end hub brand hubs, such as DT Swiss, etc.
In addition, C52DB hubs can be made with your customized logo (etch logo). So it will become your own brand hubs!

C52DB hub structure and bearings

Gravel bike carbon wheels require versatility and durability. LightCarbon gravel carbon wheels are designed with 26mm inner width rims, which is suitable for gravel tires with size 700*35C-50C. The 40/45/50mm rim height options strikes a compelling balance for mixed-terrain adventures.

Rim Depth Options: 40mm / 45mm / 50mm

Choosing the right rim height depends on riding style and terrain:

40mm: Ideal for technical, unpredictable terrain. The lower profile prioritizes agility, weight savings, and crosswind stability. Perfect for riders tackling steep climbs or twisty singletrack.

45mm: A versatile middle ground. Balances aerodynamic gains compared to 40mm rim , and with moderate weight. It suits riders mixing paved gravel terrain.

50mm: Maximizes aerodynamic efficiency for fast-paced gravel races or rolling terrain. Slightly heavier on weight but offers noticeable speed retention on smoother surfaces

Post-Ride Check: clean externally after muddy/rainy rides to prevent grime buildup.
