Although 29-inch wheels remain the mainstream choice in modern mountain biking, the 32-inch format is developed to extend MTB performance beyond current limits and explore the next step in wheel size evolution. 32-inch rims are not intended to replace 29ers. Instead, they introduce distinct benefits for riders who value rolling efficiency, stability, and speed when riding over rough and uneven terrain.
LightCarbon M32UL carbon rims are produced using a high-grade composite blend of Toray T700 + T800 carbon fiber combined with Graphene-enhanced pre-preg. This material selection allows the rim to achieve an exceptionally low weight while maintaining the strength required for off-road use. These rims are best suited for XC and light AM riders, with a maximum system weight limit of 100kg (220lb).

ERD* Effective Rim Diameter (ERD) is the maximum distance that spokes need to bridge going from one end of the rim to another. How do we calculate the ERD of our rims? The corresponding equation and a drawing is as shown: ERD=OD-(rim depth)*2+(rim thickness)*2 For example： ERD of M32UL-36C rim=697mm-28mm*2+3mm*2=647mm Most people prefer ERD including the length of the nipple cap. However, customers may use different nipples and components for building. Please add the height of the nipple cap(2.5mm~3mm generally) for your spoke calculation. If the height of the nipple cap is 3mm, then ERD of your M32UL-36C rim is 647mm+3mm*2=653mm
