Why Choose 32-Inch MTB Carbon Rims?

Although 29-inch wheels remain the mainstream choice in modern mountain biking, the 32-inch format is developed to extend MTB performance beyond current limits and explore the next step in wheel size evolution. 32-inch rims are not intended to replace 29ers. Instead, they introduce distinct benefits for riders who value rolling efficiency, stability, and speed when riding over rough and uneven terrain.

LightCarbon AD32-36 carbon rims are constructed from Toray T700 carbon fiber, providing the foundation for a strong and durable MTB rim. The maximum rider weight limit is 120kg (265lb).

The AD32-36SL version uses a premium Toray T700 + T800 carbon fiber blend to achieve a super-lightweight construction, making it better suited for lighter XC and all-mountain riders, with a maximum rider weight limit of 100kg (220lb).

The asymmetric rim design helps create more balanced spoke tension between the drive side and non-drive side. This allows higher spoke tension on the non-drive side compared with conventional symmetric rims, improving overall wheel stiffness. More even spoke tension also helps maintain wheel stability over long-term use, reducing the likelihood of spokes loosening and minimizing maintenance requirements.

In addition, the rim lay-up is carefully optimized by removing unnecessary material to reduce weight, while reinforcing the spoke hole areas with additional carbon layers. The result is an MTB carbon rim that combines high strength with low weight.
