Braking Test
Braking Test for LightCarbon Rims
The goal of the braking test is to evaluate the braking performance and heat tolerance of the rims, which can be affected by factors such as rim shape, brake pad material, and weather conditions. The test results are then used to determine the safety and reliability of the carbon rims for use on road bikes. In this test, two parameters, braking temperature and braking distance, were mainly adopted to reflect the qualification.
Performing a braking temperature test on a carbon rim involves subjecting the rim to a series of controlled braking events to measure the temperature rise of the rim. The purpose of the test is to determine the safe operating temperature range for the rim and to ensure that the braking system is functioning properly.
Performing a braking distance test on a carbon rim involves measuring the distance it takes for the bike to come to a complete stop after applying the brakes. The purpose of the test is to determine the effectiveness of the braking system and to ensure that the rim is capable of safely stopping the bike in various conditions.
